Do they contain alcohol?
No, it is a silicone based product.

What is the version number on the box, is this the expiry date?
No, this is the version number of the packaging.

Does the chemical smell disappear?
Yes the liquid dries quickly and the smell disappears.

Can I buy these direct from you?

Are they safe to use on children?
Yes, they are safe to use on children.

Will the wipe irritate my skin?
Try it, all of our products have been dermatologically tested however, everyone’s skin reacts differently. If you do have a reaction stop using is and seek medical advice from your GP or nurse. (Be careful around broken skin!)

Does the liquid take a long time to dry? I’m worried it will affect how my pouch sticks or I don’t have long to change my pouch before my Stoma starts to work!
No, the wipes dry really quickly.

This is an aerosol so you need to check with the airline and explain what it is used for. You can obtain a Travel Certificate for travelling with your products from your DAC or nurse.

No, our Silicone Glue contains no trace of peanut oil.

When can I use this?
For swimming, bathing and showering if you can’t get your flange/product to stick.

How do I use it?
Paste the glue directly onto the flange/product (not on the skin – you may not get the glue where you need it). Leave it for a few seconds or until the glue goes tacky. We would always recommend you use a barrier wipe first to protect your skin and then an adhesive remover to remove the glue.

No, this product isn’t suitable for use on babies.

What are the best times to use this product?
AcuBond Strips are a great product for activities such as swimming, gardening, walking, showering or any activity when you feel like you need extra security like a long journey. They are very sticky, flexible and stretchy.

Where can they be used?
AcuBons strips can be used on an Ostomy patients around the pouch/bag flange and Laryngectomy patients can use them to keep the baseplate from “blowing” (coming unstuck and hindering speech). Mitrofanoff patients can use them to keep their stopper in place. They can be used to keep any pouch or appliance, even a penile sheath, in place.

Are they made from hydrocolloid?
No, they are made from an acrylic foam and an acrylic glue.

Do these break up in water?
No, they are made from acrylic foam. Most flange extenders are made from hydrocolloid which can break up in water.

Do I stick these directly onto the pouch/bag?
No, you stick half on the flange and half on your skin.

Can I cut them up?
Yes, you can cut them to suit the area you are using them.

Can I use them all the way around the flange?
You can use as many or as few as required.

Can I wear these for a few days?
Yes, we have had people wear them for 2/3 days if not longer, but it depends upon your skin.

My skin has gone red, is that ok?
If you feel like you are getting discomfort form the strip stop wearing it. If after a day or so you skin is still red and if it is causing you discomfort seek medical advice from your nurse or GP.

No the wipes dry really quickly and leave a film behind on the skin that may help your bag grip and stick.

What do I do with them?
Put the required amount of strips inside your pouch to absorb the liquid.

No, the fabric doesn’t completely dissolve.

How many should I use at a time?
Approx. 3 strips for 100mls of output. But you can add more or less strips depending on how solid you want your output to be.

I have a urostomy bag, can I use the strips to make my urine go more solid?
No, you will not be able to drain the urine out of your drainable bag!

How do I use it?
Spray it into the air around you.

Isn’t this an air freshener?
No, air fresheners cover up the smell, this breaks the bacteria down in the air and then the chemicals in the spray trick your nose so you can’t smell the odour anymore.

What is it made from?
It is a water based spray.

Can I buy the small sample?
No, but if you get the stock sized bottle on prescription you can keep the small one topped up. (Both stock and sample bottles unscrew).
