On 1st April 2017, Oxford University Hospitals stoma care department hosted an open day for ostomy patients. This event meant attendees could meet fellow ostomates, receive support and find a wide range of information regarding their stomas and products that could help. On 6th October Independence Products had the pleasure of presenting their products at Derby Hospitals stoma care open day held at The Spot. Julie Powell, Business Development Manager for Independence Products, enjoyed meeting all the patients and speaking to the nurses who organised the event. “This very well attended open day gave me the opportunity to meet a lot of patients who were very interested in all of our products” said Julie. Clinical Nurse Specialists at St Mary’s Hospital hosted a very well attended Continence and Stoma Awareness Day on 22nd September. Diana Hawkins had the opportunity to meet many patients and answer all their questions as well as network with other exhibitors. Diana commented, “The nurses have kindly asked if we could promote healthy living at our stands and bring with us some healthy snacks. Bullen Healthcare hosted a Patient Open Day on 19th July at Ramada Hotel, Southport. The event gave Independence Products the opportunity to showcase their products, to meet patients and to answer any questions or concerns they have.
On 30th June 2016 Castle Hill Hospitals, with the support of Humberside IA, hosted a very busy Summer Patient Open Day. Julie Powell, Northern Territory Manager, had the pleasure of exhibiting Independence Products at Bridlington on a nice Summers Day. “It was a very good event where patients could meet fellow ostomates, get more support and find a lot of information in regards to products that could help”, said Julie. On 28th June 2016 the stoma care nurses, Jane and Jackie, hosted their annual stoma open day in The Towers, Mansfield. More that 130 patients attended and gave a lot of positive feedback in regards to using Independence Products. The patients also had the opportunity to meet all suppliers and to find solutions to problems they may be having.
